HOCHTIEF Polska has completed the shell of the first high-rise apartment building in Poland – Cosmopolitan

On 23 January 2013, the topping off ceremony took place at the Cosmopolitan Twarda 4 apartment building. The ceremony ended the completion of shell stage of the 160-meter skyscraper just 20 months after the start of construction. The investor of the building which has been erected in the very centre of Warsaw in the immediate proximity of Grzybowski Square, is the company Tacit Investment.

The project includes the construction of a 44-storey apartment building with 252 finished apartments and a five-storey office and commercial building. The skyscraper is located on a four-storey podium designed for retailers (shops, restaurants) and offices. There is an underground car park with 299 parking spaces. The office and commercial building erected next to it will be occupied by cafes, galleries and offices. The building will be connected to the podium of the tower with a glass roof. The tower will be equipped with five elevators: two express elevators will serve floors from 32nd to 43rd, two others – the remaining floors, the fifth elevator will be used as a service lift. The Cosmopolitan residents will have at their disposal a business and recreation area located on the 4th floor. From there it will be possible to enter a terrace, designed exclusively for the Cosmopolitan residents, delivering amazing views on, among other things, Grzybowski Square and Emilii Plater Street.

The total area of the building is over 53 000 square meters. The architecture of the building is distinguished by a simple form of sharp compact prism. The totally glazed façade of varied texture provides a unique view for those looking from the outside and maximum light for the interior. The completion of work is planned for mid-2013 and the handing-over of ready, completely finished apartments – in the first quarter of 2014.

We have completed all the work of the closed-in shell, currently we are working on the installation of an aluminium and glass façade, interior installations and fit-out works – said Wojciech Urbański, contract manager at HOCHTIEF Polska.
